Benahavis, a mountain village 7km from the coast, is situated between Marbella, Estepona and Ronda. Renowned for its restaurants – they call it the dining room of the Costa del Sol – it is above all a picturesque place, where one can find incredible mountain- and sea-views. Boasting 12 of the Costa del Sol's 70 golf courses, and that will go up to 15 in the next couple of years, it is also the hotspot for golf lovers.
Benahavis enjoys a sub-tropical Mediterranean climate, with hot summers and warm winters. Cooling breezes from the sea make the summer heat manageable, temperatures are an average of 32 º in summer.
The town is surrounded by natural parkland filled with an abundance of flora and fauna. Anything from a gentle stroll to a rigorous hike in the neighbouring areas will bring your senses alive.
Andalucia is one of Europe’s foremost golfing destinations, with over 100 courses. Guaranteed warm temperatures all year round, endless hours of sunshine, and a spectacular variety of courses with both mountain and sea views, make this region a hugely popular choice for golfers from all over the world, and Marbella is no exception. Marbella offers courses for all standards of players, on all terrains, and has some of the plushest club houses around. There are a number of Golf Clubs in Marbella itself, but Marbella has the added bonus of being minutes drive away from the Costa del Golf, which offers scores of different courses - the Golfers Paradise.
To many Andalucíans, native and expatriate alike, Benahavis is synonymous with food. It has the highest concentration of high class restaurants in the region and draws visitors by the thousand who come simply to savour the cuisine.
Regions of great natural and historic interest are to be found within its boundaries, such as El Cerro del Duque, Daidin and the Montemayor Castle. On top of that, Benahavis is only a stone throw away from the beaches of the Costa del Sol.
